Linux Journey: Review
Linux Journey
10/18/2022
Background/About Site
After a brief pause of taking certifications and different courses, I decided ease back into taking courses on the side by reviewing Linux. The site used is called: LinuxJourney.com
Why I used It
I have a road map that I am going to try and follow to get a pentesting job and many of the blog posts I have read, along with the job descriptions for pentesters, always mention Linux, so I decided to review what I know and maybe find some new tricks. I used this site mainly because it is free and simple to use.
How it is the site works
The site is separated into different modules that cover different topics of Linux, such as permissions or using the command line, and each module is grouped into the categories of Grasshopper, Journeyman, and Networking Nomad. Each module has some sections that covers a specific topic, along with simple exercises you can do and simple Quizs to review the topic.
Review
The site is simple to use, easily accessible, and mostly importantly it is free. I don’t have any complaints with it.
Conclusion
This site was a good refresher for Linux and it’s different concepts and how they work. My next step is to finish a Udemy course I have on penetrating testing and to get through the Python Crash Course book.
